I first discovered this author when I was traveling to the Bahamas. While looking for a guide book about Harbour Island, I found the first book in this series, set on that same island. I love these characters and the stories although fiction, are set in locations named just slightly different from the real resorts, clubs, restaurants, etc. from the places they travel. Some of the actual local characters turn up in the novels under different names. If you've ever spend any time in Jamaica, I expect you'll recognize the settings. The stories are told with humor, suspense and always a surprise thrown in that I wasn't expecting. They give a good account of what it's like to travel to these places, if you weren't involved in murder and intrigue of course. A fun and intelligent mystery.

Entertaining story with the former football star up to his neck in trouble again..Plenty of plot turns, diversions, and lots of characters to keep up with..Thoroughly entertaining book
I have included this book among the top 20 novels I have read in the past 3 years. I love the author's style of writing. even with my limited attention span, he kept me interested through the entire book. Hat's off to Bob Morris
My husband gave me the first book in this series, Bahamarama, and I loved it. So I quickly ordered Jamaica Me Dead, and will certainly get Bermuda Schwartz soon. My only small complaint is when there is a "love scene" it "fades to black" like most books written by guys. But I have become a fan of Mystery/Thriller Romance novels who don't leave anything to the imagination in that area so take that small complaint with a grain of salt!

The Zack Chasteen series by Bob Morris is really a fun read. But, you need to read them in order. Of the books in the series, this is perhaps one of the best.
My first Bob Morris book was Baja Florida. It took about 60% to get to the really exciting part but I thoroughly enjoyed the thrill and excitment. This book seemed to drag on and on with tedious detail of a political fight in Jamaica. In the end Monk DeVane who was supposed to be dead shows up for about 10 minutes only to die again in an explosion and then the book ends. This Morris novel was painful to get through only to have a mediocre ending. Morris is a favorite of mine, but this one was a big yawn for me.
I was long a fan of Bob Morris as a columnist when I lived in the Orlando area and have read a number of his collections of essays. I don't know why it took me so long to discover his novels, of which this is the second with ex-ball football player Chasteen and it is quite a romp through a Jamaican resort called "Libido" and all that term connotes. Lots of clever twists and turns to hold ones attention. I enjoy Florida writers writing about Florida (even with a bit of a side trip to the Islands), especially those I have met personally so it is a pleasure to add Bob to the stable.
